Internet search has become the No. 1 avenue for finding information and getting things done. But with more than 200 million Web sites online (and counting), most search engines are ill-equipped for the task. With This Microsoft confirms the name Bing in branding its newly revamped search engine previously known as Live Search.
A new breed of search engine has arrived, a search engine that does more than point you to a set of links
Earlier this year the corporation was making tests with their search engine named Kumo - which most people thought to be the confirmed. It was not until Microsoft revealed Bing at the D7 conference in California yesterday.
Bing is said to be designed as a “decision engine” which features tools that can help people organize their search preferences in ways more convenient.
Microsoft hopes to make their new search engine at par with Google, which is currently the most-used search engine on the web.
Microsoft is currently rolling out the product until it becomes fully available for everyone on Wednesday. Click here to check out their test run.
