With so many changes that have occurred through the years in various fields, man has become so absorbed in his mundane existence. In technology alone, man has become a master of his own fate, the captain of his own ship. Material culture has dramatically influenced our way of thinking. But, let us not forget that we are not creatures of technology and culture. We create technology. We create culture.
So many things have cropped up since time immemorial about human existence. Philosophers from various periods of time have pondered over the questions about the whys and ifs of life. Are you wondering about the purpose of life? What is the very raison d etre why we exist? What is the essence of human existence? Is our fate predetermined? Does life give us what we expect of it?
These and other numerous endless questions are still left unresolved. Though attempts have been made to solve this puzzling sphinx, a lay reader like me still remains in quandary, still seeking satisfactory answers. Getting into the heart of the matter, these questions pose metaphorical difficulties to some uninitiated readers. But as this concerns our very temporal concerns, it is significant that the heart and the mind are satiated with knowledge and wisdom about the nature of truth. As the Great Book states “set the truth and the truth shall set you free.†By knowing the truth, we liberate ourselves from ignorance to see the light and eventually to achieve salvation.
Have we, fellow bloggers, ever thought of this?
